Fund Raisers
At each meeting
we hold a 50/50
drawing
Twice a year we have penalty calendars. These are alot of fun for our members and a great way to raise money. For pre-selected months, each day has a different "fee". They may be $.10 for each window in your house or deduct $.25 for attending the scheduled meeting. We raise about $100 each time we do this.
We also have two flea markets called Trading Trash and Treasures. We hold these at the same retirement center as we have the spaghetti dinner. We sell tables for $10.00 each. This allows the residents to sell their "treasures" without having to travel far. We also have our own treasure table. In addition we have a coffee and donut//muffin table; a bake sale; and a chinese auction. In the last 7 years we have made an average of $1,000 per event.
Each year the Pilot Club of St Lucie County holds several fund raisers to raise funds to support their projects. Some of the fund raisers are larger than others but all are alot of fun for everyone involved.
Each year we hold two spaghetti dinners at a local retirement community. One of our members makes the sauce and all members contribute desserts. The meal includes spaghetti, meatballs, garlic bread, salad, dessert, coffee or tea. We each also donate door prizes to be given away. Our guests come early to set up their seats, drink their wine they have brought, and/or play cards. Our club members and their families that help all have alot of fun which makes all the work a little easier.
Our summer dinner dance will be Saturday September 11 at the Elks in Fort Pierce. Tickets are $35 per person.
